Stairway to Brightness

I think it is safe to say that my school aged children will not be reverting back to crawling ...... at least I hope not. Nor, am I expecting anymore young crawlers (meaning no more babies for me) around the house anytime in the near future, so..... it's time to take the baby gate down. Who know's why we left it up this long.

We custom made the gate 8 years ago when I had my first child because I could not find a gate wide or sturdy enough to fit across the top of the stairs.

Monday Musings

What my house lacks in 'halloweenish' decorations this year, my kids will make up for in candy. This is the only thing in the house resembling the holiday.  My BFF made this. Too cute!

Weekend Wow's

Happy Friday sweet friends! Fallish temps are present in North East Georgia. How about where you live? This week I tried to do everything I could to avoid the news. Don't know about you, but the whole Ebola situation completely freaks me out. A virus that we know little about, limited to no vaccinations available, misdirection and innocent people getting infected....and some succumbing to this virus. What are your thoughts?

These amazing projects brought some well needed distraction from it all.

I love Ann's PB inspired fall wreath pillow.

Fall Burlap Wreath...Giveaway

I know, I know, I just can't help myself. It happens every time.
I get around a couple rolls of burlap, start weaving in and out, fluffing as I go and the next thing you know.....bam
This happens.

Lake House Tour

7 years ago, I had the pleasure of working with the builder and the home owner on this beautiful lake house in Eastern Tennessee. You can read more about that here.  The house sits right on a lake tucked back in a cove with views of the mountains. Most of the year, you get the best of both views, except for the winter when they send most of the water downstream.

It's a log house exterior that also uses a lot of wood and stone in the interior, and all from the local area. And as painstakingly slow as the builder was to finish the house, the results are nothing short of spectacular. If you missed the first part of the tour you can click here.

Weekend Wow's

I know, I am a bit of a slacker this week meeting up with you on a Saturday morning. I was suppose to show you the interior of the Lake House this week that I showed you here......but I will do that on Monday. No excuses....just this little thing we call life.
Here's a sneak peak of the kitchen.
